Before purchasing a RoamFree eSIM for your 2026 international trip, it’s important to confirm that your phone is compatible. The good news is that most modern smartphones support eSIM—and we’ve put together a complete list of compatible models to make it easy for you.

First, iPhones:
All iPhone models released after 2019 support eSIM, including iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 15, and all their variants (Pro, Pro Max, Mini). If you have an iPhone X or older, your device does not support eSIM—you’ll need to use a physical SIM card instead.
Android phones:
Most Android devices released after 2020 support eSIM. Popular compatible models include: Samsung Galaxy S20, S21, S22, S23, S24 (and their variants), Google Pixel 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (and their variants), Huawei Mate 40, P40, P50 (and their variants), and OnePlus 8, 9, 10, 11 (and their variants).
How to check if your phone is compatible:
For iPhones, go to Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan—if you see this option, your phone supports eSIM.
For Android phones, go to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager (Samsung) or Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network > eSIM (Google Pixel/Huawei)—if you see the eSIM option, your phone is compatible.
If your phone doesn’t support eSIM, don’t worry—we’re constantly expanding our compatibility, but in the meantime, you can use a physical SIM card for your travels.
